Media Training, Media Interview Skills and Crisis training why have it?
According to a survey of 200 senior UK managers and directors what they feared most was being interviewed on television, with 80% saying this was worse than public speaking, preparing business plans or analysing financial date.
If you or your organisation have contact with local or national media we can offer media training in how to handle difficult situations, and how best to present a positive image – even in a negative situation. The worst approach is “no comment”. This gives journalists limitless scope to say what they like about you and your business. The next worst is someone who looks or sounds uncomfortable. Our media training, from experienced broadcast and print journalists, can give you the confidence to handle any situation and turn it to your advantage.
Our media training plan will prepare you for situations you are likely to encounter, specifically tailoring the tuition to your needs rather than delivering a generic option. Media training can include preparing for pre recorded television and radio interviews, studio interviews,"doorstep" interviews, press conferences and product launches. We can also cover crisis management and image enhancement.
Sending out a press release can be the first step to positive promotion, but it will be entirely wasted unless you have someone who can deliver when a journalist interviews them. With our media or crisis training we can prepare your company or business for defensive or promotional handling of the media either in print or from broadcast media.
Heathwood media training has worked with clients around the world, including Blue Chip companies, the public sector and foreign governments. An important part of our media training covers image projection. Our experience in both the news and the commercial environment helps us to help you.
